FootZ guide
How to start the game, prepare the team, develop players and manage the club's resources.
UpdatedGetting started
FootZ is an online football manager for users 16+. You manage a virtual club: assemble a team, prepare it for matches, develop players and participate in tournaments.
- Create a club emblem and choose home and away kits.
- Complete the creation of the starting lineup and review the welcome rewards. The credited coins and crystals are already in the club's balance.
- Open the 'Team' section: examine players' positions, attributes, talent, special statuses, and condition.
- Check the available shop offers. Before opening a pack, read its description and the terms for receiving rewards.
- Prepare the lineup for a friendly match, and after the match view the report and player ratings.
Match preparation
Choose a formation to suit the team's strengths. Check that players fit the assigned positions, have enough stamina, and are available to participate. The overall rating helps compare players but does not replace understanding of their roles and role-specific attributes.
Before confirming, check the starting lineup, substitutes and tactics. Submit the lineup before the deadline shown on the match page. Preparing the team yourself ensures they take the field with your plan.
A high rating does not guarantee victory. The course of the match is affected by both teams' lineups, player roles, their condition, tactical decisions and match events. Assess results across several matches and analyze the reasons for successful and unsuccessful actions.
Where does player experience come from?
Players earn XP for participating in matches. The amount of experience is influenced by minutes played, match rating, age, talent, special status, opponent strength, match result and competition conditions. Club infrastructure and active boosts also support development.
Age affects growth rates, but the rule "the younger, the more experience" does not always hold. Consider the player's talent, status and prospects. Information about experience grants is available on the player's profile and in their experience history.
Cards with the "Career Peak" status differ from regular ones: they do not accumulate training XP and do not improve standard attributes via the Development section.
How to spend experience
Open your player's profile and the Development section. Select the attributes you want, check the total cost and confirm the upgrade. Experience belongs to the individual player. The higher an attribute, the more expensive further increases become.
- Develop the attributes required for a player in their position.
- For defenders, focus on tackling, interceptions, positioning and duels.
- For midfielders — passing, ball control and work in their zone.
- For attacking players — finishing, pace, dribbling, chance creation or heading depending on the role.
- Don't spend all your XP just to boost the overall rating: first determine the player's role in the squad.
Energy and Injuries
Check the team's condition before a match. Players do not get injured in friendly matches. Injuries can occur in official matches, so monitor player fitness and have backup lineup options.
Team recovery for one crystal fully restores the energy of the entire team and heals its injuries. Read the action description in the recovery section before confirming.
Coins, Crystals and Reserve
Coins and crystals are different in‑game resources. Use them for actions available in the interface and monitor your club’s balance. Some funds may be held in reserve — for example, due to participation in a transfer deal — and temporarily unavailable for other spending.
Plan squad upgrades, expenses, and team recovery in advance. Purchasing in‑game resources does not guarantee a match win, tournament success, or obtaining a specific card.
Packs and Reward Storage
A pack may contain players, artifacts, or mixed rewards. In packs with random contents the specific result becomes known only after opening. A promise of a particular reward applies only when it is explicitly stated in the offer description.
Some packs grant all received rewards, while others let you choose players from the dropped options. Read the terms carefully before opening. Reopening packs does not by itself guarantee a rare or desired card.
If a player does not appear in the team, check the opening screen and storage. You may need to complete the selection or transfer the reward to the squad. If there is not enough space, free up room in the team first. Before acting, review storage conditions and the available ways to manage the reward.
Not all cards can be sold. Restrictions on transfers, trading, and compensation are shown in the information for the corresponding card.
Transfers, Free Agents and Academy
Strengthen weak positions, not just collect big names. Compare role, age, talent, condition, cost and card traits. Before placing a bid, take into account reserved funds and deal terms.
Free agents and the academy provide additional options for replenishing the squad. Check whether the offer is available to the club, the cost and the availability of roster spots. Think in advance about what role the newcomer will take in the lineup and how they will develop.
Tournaments and Club Development
Choose competitions based on participant requirements. Before submitting an entry, review the format, schedule, eligibility conditions and prizes. Check the application status and deadlines for preparing for upcoming matches.
Infrastructure and artifacts help develop the club and players. Before activating an artifact, check its purpose and duration. Plan enhancements for upcoming fixtures and allocate resources between current tasks and team development.
